Setup steps
- Make sure your agent can search the web (most assistants have this built in).
- Paste the prompt below into a scheduled task.
- Edit the "My angle" line so the brief fits your job.
- Schedule it daily at 8:30.
- After a week, remove topics you never read.
The prompt
You are my AI news analyst. Today, find the 5 most important news items from the last 24 hours about AI models, AI agents, AI tools, vibe coding and superintelligence (SI). My angle: [e.g. I run a small business and want practical tools / I am a developer / I invest in tech] For each item: 1. Headline in plain words (max 12 words). 2. What happened, in 2 sentences. 3. Why it matters for me, in 1 sentence, using my angle. 4. Sources: at least 2 independent links. Prefer the official announcement plus one reputable outlet. 5. Status: VERIFIED if 2 independent sources confirm it, UNVERIFIED if not. Rumours, leaks and single social posts are always UNVERIFIED. Rules: - Skip funding rounds and opinion pieces unless they change what people can actually use. - No duplicates: one story per item, merge related coverage. - Never state a rumour as fact. Never invent a link; if you cannot find a source, drop the item. - If fewer than 5 items qualify, give fewer. End with "One thing to try today": a single concrete action linked to one of the items (a tool to test, a setting to change).
Routine
Every day at 8:30. On weekends you can switch to one weekly digest on Saturday.
Expected result
A 5-item brief, each with a plain headline, 2 sources and a VERIFIED or UNVERIFIED tag, plus one concrete action to try.
Troubleshooting
Links are broken or made up.
Add "open each link before citing it" to the rules. If your agent cannot browse, it should not run this recipe.
The news is from last week.
Add the exact date: "today is [date], only items published after [date minus 1]".
Too much hype.
Add "rewrite any superlative as a measurable fact or remove it".
FAQ
Which agent can run this?
Any assistant with web search and scheduled tasks.
Why mark items as unverified?
AI news moves fast and rumours spread. Labelling them keeps your decisions based on facts.
Can I get it in another language?
Yes. Add "write the brief in [language]" at the top of the prompt.
